Questions
Does it follow my state's auto repair law?
The forms include the fields state laws ask for: a written estimate before work, the customer's authorization for added work with name, method, date and time, parts marked new, used, rebuilt or reconditioned, and your registration number in states that issue one (California ARD, Florida FDACS, New York facility number, Michigan). See auto repair laws by state. Your shop stays responsible for compliance.
Where is my data stored?
In your browser on your device. Estimates and invoices are made into PDFs on your phone or computer. If you send an approval link (Pro), the work list and amounts are stored for 30 days so your customer can open it; customer names and phone numbers are not sent.
Can my customer approve extra work by text?
Yes. Pro creates a link you text or email. The customer sees the added work and the new total, types their name, signs with a finger and taps Approve. The time is stamped and printed on the invoice. On the free plan you can record a phone or in-person approval by hand.
Is this shop management software like Tekmetric?
No. It is a light tool for the paperwork: estimates, repair orders, authorizations, invoices and inspections. There is no parts ordering, scheduling or payment processing, and the price is $15 a month instead of hundreds.
